2007/08 call for works
Due Date:
Ongoing (Original Deadline for Octet concert March 31, 2007)
The London Contemporary
Music Group (LCMG) is pleased to announce a new ‘Call for Works’
alongside their existing call, for new pieces for inclusion in their
2007/08 concert series. The LCMG is looking for new works for inclusion
in forthcoming concerts for instrumental lineups drawn from either an
Octet (cl, bsn, hn, 2 vlns, vla, vc, db) or Quintet (fl, cl, pno, vln,
vc). The scores needn't be for the full combinations,
so we welcome any submissions from solo through to the full lineup.
We are also planning
concerts for Septet (fl, cl, hn, perc*, vln,
vcl) and Sextet (fl, cl, pno, perc*, vln,
vc) but there are no specific dates for these events as of yet.
The LCMG undertakes
to perform one piece by an up and coming composer in every concert that
it does, and has so far performed (amongst others) works by Andrew
Thomas and Gareth Churchill.
The call is open
to any composer regardless of age or nationality. This call does not
affect the main LCMG ‘Call for Works’, which is running
concurrently. Submissions cost £5.00 (per score) to cover administrative
costs, which is payable through the LCMG website or by cheque.

[If including percussion please bear in mind that the LCMG works to
a tight budget and as such does not have limitless funds with which
to hire instruments.]
